I am a young artist looking to take painting in a new direction, I am still learning the vast amount of techniques used in art but have recently been experimenting in the use of texture in processed based paintings. My influences for these paintings include Robert Rauschenbeg, Edward Rennie and Hans Hofman. I am enjoying creating pieces in this absract style and yet I would like to take this style forward into a more idea based form of art. My development of knowledge in the art world even over the last year is helping me develop a range of original idea's in my head. I am currently studying Art and Design in collage and unfortunaly I am constrained to a curriculum and have found it hard to develop my ideas and put them down on the canvass. I also have the problem of being resricted to my use of materials and yet I am trying my best to push the boundries, experimenting in using a range of household materials. Although I am not only producing work in the area of fine art, I have also been achieving an extra qualification in graphics and have made some quite successful pieces in this area. I believe one of the most important parts of art is learning to involve other aspects of the arts (hence graphics, 3D ect.) in to your chosen pathway and infact why should there be any definition over a pathway anyway! I also believe that it is important to get rid of the reputation that art has got for being up itself and to help the general public understand the concepts behind Modern Art!
